SkinAtlas is a personal tracking and information tool, not a medical product. Here's what that means in practice.

Not medical advice

Nothing in SkinAtlas — including ingredient analysis, correlation insights, AI Copilot responses, or skin observation results — constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Ingredient information is sourced from published literature and is provided for general reference. Individual responses to ingredients vary widely. What works well for most people may not work for you, and what irritates others may be fine for your skin.

About skin observation

The Skin Observation feature uses AI to describe visible surface characteristics of your skin from a photo: things like texture, oiliness or dryness, visible congestion, and tone. It describes what is visually observable.

Skin observation results are not a clinical assessment of your skin's health, and are not a diagnosis of any skin condition or disease. Visible surface characteristics do not map reliably to underlying conditions.

If you have concerns about a skin condition — including acne, rosacea, eczema, hyperpigmentation, or any lesion that worries you — please see a qualified dermatologist or physician.

Not a medical device

SkinAtlas is not a registered medical device. It is not approved or regulated by any health authority for clinical use. Its outputs are informational, not diagnostic.

When to see a professional

If you're dealing with a persistent or worsening skin concern, a sudden change in a mole or lesion, a suspected allergic reaction, or any skin condition that causes you pain or distress — see a dermatologist or your primary care physician. SkinAtlas can help you track and prepare for that appointment, but it is not a replacement for clinical assessment.

For what it's worth: the best thing you can do before a derm appointment is a detailed product and symptom history — which is exactly what SkinAtlas helps you build.
