Watch for

  • ⚠Formaldehyde-releasing preservative; releases small amounts of formaldehyde over time as its active mechanism
  • ⚠May cause contact dermatitis or sensitization in individuals with formaldehyde allergy
  • ⚠EU Annex V permits maximum 0.6% DMDM Hydantoin in finished products; products releasing ≥0.001% free formaldehyde must carry a 'releases formaldehyde' label warning (EU Regulation 2022/1181); CIR considers safe at 0.074%
