Lauroyl/Myristoyl Methylglucamide
A nonionic surfactant derived from methylglucamine and lauric/myristic fatty acids, used as a mild foam booster and viscosity modifier in cleansing formulas.
Also known as: Lauroyl/Myristoyl Methyl Glucamide
Benefits
- ✓Boosts and stabilizes foam in cleansing formulas
- ✓Increases and modifies viscosity of surfactant systems
- ✓Mild, sugar-derived (glucamide) surfactant
Watch for
- ⚠Generally well tolerated; low irritation potential typical of glucamide-class surfactants
In depth
What it does
A nonionic surfactant derived from methylglucamine and lauric/myristic fatty acids, used as a mild foam booster and viscosity modifier in cleansing formulas. As an surfactant ingredient, it is particularly valued for boosts and stabilizes foam in cleansing formulas, increases and modifies viscosity of surfactant systems, and mild, sugar-derived (glucamide) surfactant.
How to use it
Used as part of a cleanser, so placement is straightforward — it's your first step, applied to damp skin and rinsed off thoroughly. Avoid overwashing, which can disrupt the skin barrier.
