4 ingredients in Barrier support matching "acid"
A C20 saturated fatty acid naturally occurring in peanut oil, fish oils, and skin lipids, used as an emollient and barrier-supportive ingredient in skincare formulations.
Ceramide AG is the INCI name for Ceramide 6-II, characterized by an alpha-hydroxy fatty acid (A) and dihydrosphingosine (G). One of the naturally occurring ceramides in the stratum corneum. Used in multi-ceramide formulations (Matsuyama Hadauru, Kiku-Masamune, Ishizawa) to restore barrier.
A collective term for free fatty acids found in the skin's stratum corneum lipid matrix. Together with ceramides and cholesterol they form the lamellar bilayer that controls skin barrier function and water retention.
Wheat Amino Acids is a mixture of amino acids derived from the hydrolysis of wheat gliadin or gluten proteins. The amino acid profile of wheat protein is rich in glutamic acid/glutamine, proline, and glycine — all components of the natural moisturizing factor and collagen. In cosmetics it functions as a conditioning humectant that replenishes stratum corneum amino acid content and contributes mild film-forming properties.
