An ester of phytosterol and isostearic acid. Provides emollient and barrier-supporting properties while delivering phytosterol benefits for skin conditioning.
A complex ester of phytosterol and isostearyl alcohol with dimer linoleic acid. Forms liquid crystalline structures that integrate into skin's lipid barrier. Used in Naturie's gel for barrier-compatible emolliency.
Phytosteryl Macadamiate is an ester of phytosterols and macadamia-derived fatty acids, used as a rich emollient that enhances skin texture and helps reinforce the skin's lipid barrier.
An ester of phytosterols (plant-derived sterols) and oleic acid. Used as a lightweight emollient and skin-conditioning agent that supports the skin barrier lipid structure.
A mixed ester of phytosterol, behenyl alcohol, and octyldodecanol with lauroyl glutamic acid, structurally similar to ceramides and used as an emollient that reinforces the skin's lipid barrier.
A complex mixed ester of phytosterols, isostearyl alcohol, fatty alcohols, and dimer dilinoleic acid used as a rich emollient and emulsion stabilizer in lip products and cleansing oils.
A mixed ester of phytosterols, octyldodecanol, and lauroyl glutamic acid used as a gentle amino acid-derived emollient and emulsifier in lotions and emulsions.
Extract from Picea abies (Norway spruce) buds or meristem cells. Rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, and stilbenes. Meristem cell cultures contain concentrated growth factors and antioxidants associated with skin renewal and anti-aging.
A fermented extract produced by Pichia yeast cultured with resveratrol (a stilbene antioxidant from grapes). Fermentation increases the bioavailability and stability of resveratrol. Signature ingredient in NEOGEN's ferment line for antioxidant and anti-aging benefits.
A bicyclic monoterpene naturally occurring in pine resin and many essential oils. Provides a fresh, resinous fragrance note. EU-listed as a fragrance allergen due to oxidation products.
An extract from the leaves of Pinus densiflora (Japanese red pine), used in cosmetics for its antioxidant and skin conditioning properties.
An extract from the leaves of Pinus palustris (longleaf pine), used in cosmetics as an antioxidant and skin conditioning agent.
Bark extract from Pinus pinaster (maritime pine). Source of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) and flavonoids; the standardized branded form is known as Pycnogenol. Provides broad-spectrum antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits widely studied in both oral and topical contexts.
An extract from the bark and buds of Pinus pinaster (maritime pine) containing oligomeric proanthocyanidins and phenolic acids with potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
An ingredient derived from Pinus pumila (Siberian dwarf pine), used in botanical skincare for its antioxidant proanthocyanidins and contributing pine/resinous fragrance notes. Found in Sisley Paris Ecological Compound's complex plant extract blend.
An extract from the buds of Pinus sylvestris (Scots pine), concentrated in proanthocyanidins, polyphenols, and monoterpenes; used in cosmetics for antioxidant and soothing benefits.
An extract from the cones (strobili) of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris). Rich in proanthocyanidins, gallic acid, and flavonoids; provides antioxidant and mild conditioning benefits. Distinct from pine needle or bark extract.
An essential oil distilled from the leaves and twigs of Pinus sylvestris (Scots pine), used primarily as a fragrance component with mild antimicrobial properties.
An extract of the leaves, roots, and stems of Piper methysticum (kava), containing kavalactones including kavain, methysticin, and yangonin; used as a skin-conditioning agent at trace concentrations, with unresolved topical safety data per the CIR Expert Panel.
Extract from the root of Piper methysticum (kava), a Piperaceae shrub native to Pacific Islands. Contains kavalactones (kavain, methysticin, yangonin, dihydromethysticin) and flavokawains. Topically, kavalactones modulate NF-κB and COX inflammatory signaling while polyphenols scavenge free radicals. The 2009 CIR Expert Panel found insufficient data to affirm topical safety owing to uncharacterized dermal absorption of hepatotoxic kavalactone constituents — used at very low concentrations in cosmetics.
An extract from mammalian placenta (typically porcine). Contains growth factors, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals associated with skin regeneration and brightening. A popular active in Japanese luxury skincare including Kiku-Masamune's sake-based products.
Placental Protein is a protein complex derived from animal or plant placenta, used in cosmetics primarily in Japanese skincare for its skin conditioning and purported anti-aging properties.
An extract of marine plankton biomass rich in amino acids, fatty acids, vitamins, and DNA repair enzymes, used in cosmetics for anti-aging, hydration, and skin conditioning.
Plantago Asiatica Extract is derived from the leaves and whole plant of Asian plantain, a staple of East Asian herbal medicine. Its key actives — aucubin, plantaginin, and mucilage polysaccharides — deliver anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, and barrier-supportive effects. Widely used in K-beauty serums and toners as a calming agent for sensitized or compromised skin.
