An extract from Fomes officinalis (horse mushroom/amadou), a bracket fungus rich in beta-glucans and triterpenoids with anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties.
The simplest carboxylic acid. In cosmetics, listed at trace levels (typically at the end of amino acid complex formulas) as a pH adjuster. Safe at the very low concentrations used in skincare.
Extract from the fruit of Forsythia suspensa (weeping forsythia), a plant central to traditional East Asian medicine. Contains forsythin, phillyrin, and rutin. Has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and mild antimicrobial properties. Used in Elixir's brightening emulsions.
Extract from Fragaria ananassa (cultivated strawberry), one of the most widely grown berry crops. Contains ellagic acid, quercetin, kaempferol, and anthocyanins alongside natural vitamin C. Used in lip glows, brightening, and antioxidant formulas for its pleasant sensory associations and functional polyphenol content. A common co-ingredient with other berry extracts (raspberry, blueberry, cloudberry) in K-beauty lip and brightening lines.

An extract of the leaves of the wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca) used in cosmetics for its polyphenol-rich antioxidant and soothing properties.

An extract of Freesia refracta flowers used primarily as a fragrance-contributing botanical and mild skin conditioner in cosmetic formulations.

A marine algae extract from bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) seaweed rich in fucoidan and phlorotannins that delivers antioxidant protection, collagen support, and light hydration for anti-aging formulations.
A cage-structured carbon molecule (C60) used in cosmetics as an exceptionally potent antioxidant that neutralizes reactive oxygen species to protect against oxidative aging.
A yeast ferment filtrate rich in amino acids and vitamins, used for radiance and texture (K & J beauty).
Extract from the stem of Ganoderma lucidum (reishi / lingzhi mushroom). Contains beta-glucans, ganoderic acids (triterpenoids), and polysaccharides. The stem extract is distinct from the fruiting body extract and complements it with similar adaptogenic and antioxidant properties.
An extract from the fruiting body of Ganoderma lucidum (reishi / lingzhi mushroom), distinct from the stem-only extract already in the KB; contains beta-glucans, polysaccharides, and ganoderic acid triterpenoids with antioxidant, adaptogenic, and skin-conditioning benefits.
Extract from the pericarp (peel) of mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana). Contains alpha-mangostin and other xanthones that are among the most potent plant antioxidants known. Used in Elixir Retino Power Cream as an antioxidant booster.
A general gardenia extract (typically from Gardenia jasminoides) containing antioxidant crocins and iridoid glycosides, distinct from the more specific Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract entry; used for antioxidant and soothing effects.
An extract from the fruit of Gardenia florida (Cape jasmine) containing crocin and other antioxidant polyphenols that protect skin from oxidative stress.
An extract of wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens) leaves containing methyl salicylate, used in cosmetics for anti-inflammatory and soothing properties.
An extract of the red alga Gelidiella acerosa rich in phycocolloids, used in cosmetics for humectant, soothing, and antioxidant properties.
A linear anionic polysaccharide produced by fermentation of Sphingomonas elodea. Composed of tetrasaccharide repeating units of glucose, glucuronic acid, and rhamnose. Used as a gelling and suspending agent in cosmetics at concentrations of 0.1–1%. The deacylated (low acyl) form produces clear, brittle gels; the high acyl form produces flexible, cloudy gels. Distinct from xanthan gum (branched, bacterial) and carrageenan (algae-derived).
An extract of the root of Gentiana lutea (yellow gentian) rich in secoiridoid glycosides and xanthones, used in cosmetics for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-brightening effects.
A naturally occurring monoterpene alcohol with a sweet rose-citrus scent; a regulated EU fragrance allergen with moderate sensitization potential.
